I wanted to get out to get my hands on a copy of Contra 4 for my DS. After all, that’s the reason I asked to get one (a DS) for my birthday. I’m a huge Contra fan!
Anyways, after seeing this picture of the line at GameStop from Naim’s Flickr stream, I’m glad I held off. Probably wouldn’t have any luck getting my hands on a copy anyways since I am not much of the “preordering” type.
Yeah, that was a bit annoying. I ended up having to wait about 30 minutes to get my copy of Assassin’s Creed (which I did a brief write up of here: http://lnfalandino.com/2007/11/14/assassins-creed/). I didn’t have it preordered, and was lucky I showed up when I did, they only had 10 non-preorder copies and I got the 8th one.
DS is pretty awesome man. I hope the new Contra for it is good, I might have to get a copy eventually. Though with all the other stuff coming out around now it would be a bit of a delay I think.
Did you ever end up getting a 360?
Yeah, I really don’t know anything about Assassin’s Creed but there seems to be some people on the net getting their hate on for it (like you mentioned in your post). Is it on 360 exclusively? I have some co-workers who are going to pick it up so I might have to check it out that way.
DS is THE system!
It has restored my faith in gaming. Its useful cause I’m always on the go or doing other stuff while trying to game. Especially with being married and sharing a tv, it’s nice to not monopolize the tv so I can get my gaming fix.
Besides, I am the type of gamer who likes to play for 15 minutes and get on with my day.. and a lot of the titles on DS lend themselves to that type of action.

No 360! I think eventually we might get a Wii, just cause I’m a huge Nintendo fanboy and Mario Galaxy looks omg awesome!
