A lot has happened since June 11, 2007. I’ve been super busy with the usual attempts to balance work and home life. However, there’s been some super exciting things going on that I’ve failed to blog about!

Since I’ve been really bad about updating my blog in the last year (and I promise the drought is ending), I feel that it is much needed to update everybody on what I’ve been up to. Consider this my excuse list for why I’ve been such a bad blogger. Here’s a brief list of all the great things that have happened in my life since this time last year.

1. Marriage! Soon after moving to Oregon, I met the woman of my dreams– intelligent, beautiful and adventurous. We were married last August and it has been nothing but amazing. We totally get each other and we know exactly what drives us.

2. Home Ownership! Need I say more. No longer will we have deal with the fun that is renting. Of course, this means more of our income goes out the window to pay for our place to live, but it is totally worth it. We bought a newer home in a development northwest of the city and we are absolutely loving having a place to call our very own.

3. Fatherhood! Well, not completely. We got a miniature dachshund puppy, Oscar. Everybody (especially my family) seems to think that he is our “practice baby”, but he is a very important member of the family. Becca and I refer to him as the “happiness puppy” because just petting him lowers your blood pressure (a much needed feature).

4. Hawaii! I always wanted to take a vacation to somewhere exotic. Well getting married gave [us] the perfect excuse to just get away. We chose to travel to the less popular island of Kauai. While the cuisine was a little hard to get used to (why mix asian sauces with american food I don’t know!?), it was the perfect get away. Most people go on vacation with a loaded itinerary but ours simply consisted of relaxation by the ocean and checking out some of the local culture. It was a much needed and amazing getaway.

5. Rock ‘n’ Roll! A major part of my life has always been playing, performing and writing music. Over the last 8 months I have been rockin’ with a great bunch of musicians. Instance–our band name–has a solid blues rock sound and we have recently recorded our first demo. We are currently working on expanding our library of tunes and booking shows, extremely exciting!

Well that just about sums up how crazy my life has been in the last year. There’s one other exciting thing in the works but I can’t yet talk about it ;)
